The world is there just for you to explore, to improve on and to challenge only you. This may make the environment sound boring, but it actually adds to the calming nature of the game. It is a world where only you, the vehicle and it exists. It is unforgiving with its mud, lakes and mountains that will not yield to just any vehicle. It is lush with colours that bounce and play with the light. The world of SnowRunner is my favourite thing about this game. I think it’s important to try all sorts of different genres of games, because hey, you just might find yourself enjoying the unfamiliar. My little blue Suzuki Swift gets me from A to B and that’s just fine with me! However, after watching the trailers for SnowRunner, I wanted the opportunity to play a game that was so far away from what I usually play. Also, I’m not that big into cars and trucks. The closest I’ve been to driving a truck was wearing trucker caps in my early twenties (remember when they were so cool?). Most of these players were hyped due to playing Saber Interactive’s 2017 release MudRunner, a game that received glowing reviews for its realistic and challenging off-road driving simulations. I’d visited a number of online communities that were super excited and counting down to the games release date. In starting SnowRunner I didn’t know what I was in for. Its the way that snow-runner just locks off everything from you that irks me the wrong way, guess its my own fault for not seeing what type of game snow-runner is.This game is my first foray into a driving simulator (that is if you don’t count endless hours of Mario Kart on my SNES when I was ten, which I do not). Don't get me wrong I think snow-runner is a very exquisite game but if your looking for a similar experience to mud-runner or spin-tires you will probably be disappointed just as i was all i'm saying is these two games are just not at all in the same genres. It also pisses me off that the game can barely get 40 to 50 frames were as in mud-runner with the third party adega graphics mod can make the game look very similar to snow-runner but run three times better. For me, mud-runner and spin-tires are games were you have an objective to do and the game lets you complete that objective whatever way you want, be it using an big gas guzzling 8x8 or a 2 wheel drive truck from the 50's, or you could just jump in with a powerful vehicle and ♥♥♥ around and have fun were as in snow-runner the game forces you to play with its own designed way, not to mention you have to BUY all the vehicles basically limiting you to only play the way it wants you to AKA you cant just ♥♥♥ around as you could in mud-runner or spin-tires unless you already completed it(which takes a long Fing time). I feel that you really cant compare the two (spin-tires and mud-runner are essentially the same game so i'm combining them into one entity) they go for entirely different game-play styles and that kind-of why I absolutely despises snow-runner, it feels wrong to me, i guess it could be the new developer its under but it feels too complicated. Requires higher-performing hardware, largest overall game size.More expensive, especially considering the "Year Passes".Maps up to 4x larger than MudRunner/SpinTires.
